Enterprise policy

Over the years, the EU has developed a so-called EU Enterprise policy.

Its objective is to build an environment that is more conducive to the creation and development of businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), within the European Union. It particularly focuses on:

• Promoting entrepreneurship, business creation and cross-border trade;
• Promoting European competitiveness and business sustainability;
• Simplification of the regulatory and administrative environment.

The hospitality industry is composed by 99% of SMEs. Therefore, all policy developments addressed to businesses to be more competitive and adapt to a changing world are much welcome.

HOTREC contributes with the experience of its member association to the shaping of this EU policy.
